The healthcare sector is important to southeastern Indiana communities from both a patient care and quality of life perspective and also from an employment and economic development perspective. EI-AHEC reaches out to K-16 students in our region to make them aware of local health care career opportunities as the first step in growing our own health care workforce.
Health Careers Champions School Partnerships - New for 2016-2017, we are identifying and partnering with health careers champions schools in our region to plan and support health careers awareness and enrichment activities for students. Get more details here.
Health Career Awareness Class Visits are short programs designed to promote awareness of health careers and generate student interest potential health career pathways. We frequently visit Health, Science, and Adult Roles classes and participate in school-wide career fair events. We can customize our presentations to meet specific Indiana grade-level academic standards or other educational goals in a vareity of grades and disicplines.
Health Career Enrichment Programs are longer term experiences which promote knowledge of and interest in health careers. They offer exposure to health careers through speakers, field trips, and hands-on activities. Contact us to discuss partnering to develop a program for your school club or group.
College and Career Counseling - we offer one-on-one college and career counseling sessions to students in our region, giving eastern and southeastern Indiana students access to the same personality assessments and academic advising resources used on top campuses nationwide. Find out more!
Summer Health Career Exploration Programs give students experienes like shadowing in health care clinical environments, participating in hands-on college level science activities, and researching community health issues.
